Our Vision Statement
Our vision statement was drawn up by staff, pupils, governors and parents from the school. It expresses our belief that this is a family orientated school with a firm ethos of working together, and that education is more than book work and needs to be based on a variety of experiences and opportunities.
We believe that in order for children to experience success they must be confident, independent, and have high expectations of themselves. They need to have acquired a wide range of skills and experiences that will equip them to meet new challenges with confidence. We encourage all children to do their best in everything they do and the staff expects high standards of work and behaviour from each one.
It is our hope that, as a parent, you will be able to work with us to achieve our vision for the school and its pupils:
- I’m happy
- I’m confident
- I’m willing to have a go
- I’m respected as an individual
- I’m competitive but fair
- I’m honest and trustworthy
- I’m a good friend
- I’m inquisitive and want to learn new things
- I share willingly
- My parents support me at school
- Dunton Bassett is exciting and fun
This is what we would like our pupils to feel when they are at our school and when they leave for new schools.
At our school we aim to be...
SAFE and SENSIBLE
CURIOUS and CLEVER
HAPPY and HEALTHY
OBSERVANT and ORGANISED
OBEDIENT and OUTSTANDING
